RS Scaffolding are looking for an experienced part-time Payroll and Accounts Assistant to join our friendly office team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, hands-on environment and has knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Payroll.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for site operatives and office staff using Sage Payroll
  • Manage employee records including starters, leavers, holidays, and absences
  • Process PAYE, pensions, and HMRC submissions
  • Input and reconcile purchase invoices, sales invoices, and bank accounts
  • Support with VAT returns, journals, and month-end reporting
  • Liaise with suppliers, clients, and staff regarding payroll and accounts queries
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance Manager and wider team

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in payroll and bookkeeping
  • Proficient in Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Confident with Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team

Desirable Qualifications

  • AAT qualification (or working towards)
  • Experience preparing VAT returns
